How to build a curl command with a proxy

Pick a method, add headers and a body, set a proxy — the tool assembles a correctly escaped command. HTTP proxies use -x http://user:pass@host:port; SOCKS5 uses --socks5-hostname user:pass@host:port so DNS resolves on the proxy side and your IP doesn't leak.

Useful flags

-I — response headers only; -L — follow redirects; -k — skip certificate check; -A — custom User-Agent; -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code} %{time_total}" — just status and timing. Verify the request goes through the proxy: curl -x http://host:port https://api.ipify.org should print the proxy IP.
