MAC Address Generator

What Is a MAC Address?

A MAC address (Media Access Control) is a unique 48-bit identifier assigned to each network interface of a device. It consists of 6 bytes written in hexadecimal format (e.g., AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF). The first 3 bytes are the OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier), identifying the device manufacturer.

MAC addresses are used at the data link layer of the network to identify devices on the local network. Unlike an IP address, a MAC is "burned" into the network card, although it can be changed programmatically (MAC spoofing).

Why Generate MAC Addresses?

MAC address generation is useful for: testing network equipment and software, creating virtual machines, bypassing MAC filtering in Wi-Fi networks, anonymity in public networks, and developing network applications.

How to Use?

Select the number of addresses (1-100), separator format (colon, hyphen, dot), letter case (upper/lower), and optionally an OUI prefix from a manufacturer. Click "Generate" and copy the result.

FAQ

Are generated addresses unique? Statistically, yes. The probability of two random MAC addresses matching is negligible (1 in 2^24 for the random part).

Can I use them for MAC spoofing? Yes, generated addresses can be used to change the MAC in network adapter settings.
